The club have recognised in the Directors Report 2002 that whilst the general facilities for disabled people are adequate as far as access to the ground and pitchside are concerned; the lack of access to the club bars and conference facilities as well as the lack of a raised viewing area for wheelchair users is, to quote the report, "an embarrassment" to the club.
In consultation with disabled supporters plans have been put in place to install a lift to the first floor of the Main Stand and to install a viewing platform at the back of the Main Stand, accessible through the social club bar and via the lift. As always finance, or the lack of it, dictates when these amenities will eventually be installed, though government legislation should ensure that the latest this will be is October 2004.
Disabled people are urged to contact the club to enquire when the provision of a lift and raised viewing facilities will be installed at Huish Park. Write to: John Fry (chairman), Yeovil Town Football Club, Huish Park, Lufton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA22 8YF .
