Robin Evans' Match Report

In just the second minute Kevin GALL picked up a very poor clearance from a Dorchester goal keeper Craig Bradshaw free kick, played a one-two with trialist Lubo Blaha, and fired home. 0 - 1.

A Lee Johnson free kick was played cleverly to Darren Way, but his side foot effort lacked power. A good shot from Arron Davies was well blocked by Bradshaw.

After ten minutes Jamie Brown flashed a shot across the Yeovil goal mouth. A couple of minutes later a good Dorchester move ended with a cross headed in by trialist Glen HOWES. 1 - 1.

Johnson shot just wide after a good move involving him, Blaha and Phil Jevons. A great pass from Jevons was chipped over by Johnson.

Bradshaw made another poor clearance, this time straight to Blaha, who ran in and shot, but the Magpies custodian redeemed himself with an excellent save.

Midway through the first half a delicately placed free kick from Jevons hit the top of the Dorchester bar.

Steve Collis caught a cross, but Jamie Brown jumped and put both Collis and the ball in the net. Soon after Brown fired a good shot which Collis saved, but later he followed through after Collis had dived to catch the ball. This was one of several very physical challenges from the home side which upset the large Yeovil following.

An excellent run from Kevin Amankwaah saw him pass to Johnson, and then run on to receive the return. He then slid the ball across for Phil JEVONS to slot home from close range. 1 - 2.

Bradshaw made a great save from Jevons at the cost of a corner, and a breakaway from Yeovil finished with a Blaha cross volleyed just wide by Kevin Gall.

Half-time: Dorchester Town 1 - 2 Yeovil Town

There were no changes at half time, and the earliest good action was ten minutes into the second period when Blaha went close with a header from an Arron Davies cross.

Just before the hour mark Yeovil were gutted to see Kevin Amankwaah limp off , and he was replaced by Andy Lindegaard.

On 64 minutes both sides replaced nine of their eleven players, and naturally the game became rather subdued for a while.

With just over a quarter of an hour remaining Yeovil extended their lead when a Lindegaard flicked cross was headed down by trialist Paul Weerman and fired low into the right hand side of the goal by Matt HARROLD. 1 - 3.

Dorchester replaced Jamie Brown with Matt Wannacott. David Poole shot a little wide from about 25 yards, and Bradshaw saved a good shot from Steve Reed. It was to be his last significant contribution as he was replaced between the sticks by Nick Jones for the last five minutes as the game petered out and the Glovers eased their way to a fairly straightforward and routine victory.
