The chairman of the Yeovil Town Independent Supporters' Association has said that he hopes the group will continue to build on its flourishing links with the parent club.
Mark Kelly told the group's annual meeting - held at the Beehive pub in Huish, Yeovil, on Saturday - that the YTISA had had problems with the powers-that-be at Huish Park when it was first formed around three years ago.
But Mr Kelly said: "I am glad to report that we are forging better links with the club and hopefully these will get even better in the future."
YTISA treasurer Stewart Bratherton announced that the group had a balance of £1,376.21. But he added that the value of existing merchandise in stock amounted to a further £975.
Funds had been boosted in the past 12 months with an increase in away travel and merchandise revenue - thanks mainly to the Glovers' FA Umbro Trophy triumph in May at Villa Park. Members heard that a number of donations had been made in the past year to the club including £1,000 towards the cost of a new industrial washing machine, plus the purchase of first-team training equipment.
Mr Bratherton reported that the YTISA had 160 life members with some living in Australia, the USA, and Ireland.
Items discussed during the meeting included the proposed election of an honorary president of the group, and possible fundraising to help kick-start a campaign to help finance a much-needed and purpose-built social club complex at Huish Park.
Former local football referee Roger Brimble was unanimously voted onto the YTISA committee by the 20 or so members present for the meeting.
The committee for 2002-03 was as follows: Chairman, Mark Kelly; secretary, Sara Brimble; treasurer, Stewart Bratherton; Press officer, Steve Sowden; committee members, Roger Brimble; Simon Gerring and Colin Turner.
Anyone wishing to become a life member of the YTISA should contact Mark Kelly on 01935-412236. Membership costs £5.
