The End of the 1990's Survey

Let's face it, there's too much talk about the M*llenn**m. Robbie Williams made the mistake of cashing in on it six months too early and Sir Cliff is making us all despressed with a song that is even getting people of a religious persuasion hot under the collar. Then if you live in London, you have the magnificent White Elephant that is the M*llenn**m D*me whilst the hospitals around it are closed down (Oooh, a bit of politics, a bit of politics - Ben Elton).

We're all suffering from M*llenn**m Overload, and so to counteract that, Ciderspace brings you possibly the only survey in the entire country to proudly boast to be based on the last ten years, and not the last thousand! We're not going to try and have you kid us that you actually saw Alec Stock play (OK, so one or two of you may have) or that the 1953 tie against Kidderminster in the Southern League was the best thing since sliced bread. Instead, cast your mind back a mere ten years at most, and join in with our humble survey of the good, the bad and the psychotic of the 1990's.

NOTE: You do not have to supply your name and e-mail however we would recommend it that you do. It will be used only to verify that there is no "rigging" of the survey results and will not be distributed to anyone outside Ciderspace nor will it be published as part of the results. If you do reply to the survey anonymously, please note that should we find suggestions of multiple entries then your entry may be discounted if there are suggestions that it is one of a number of multiple entries. Players and officials are welcome to enter, and their entries will be considered with total anonymity.

Firstly, we want you to consider what your favourite three matches of the 1990's were. The sort of matches that you will remember this decade for. We've included a few suggestions, but if you think we've got it wrong, then pick your own by choosing "Another match" and filling in the additional text box.

Next, it is the other side of the coin. Which three matches of the 1990's make you wince with embarrassment or make you yawn at the mere thought of them. One again, we've included a few suggestions, but if you think we've got it wrong, then pick your own by choosing "Another match" and filling in the additional text box.

Next, a slight difference ... what moment, event or achievement do you think the 1990's will be remembered by the clubs supporters in a positive light ? Choose from the list, or, yep you guessed it, there's a text box for you to supply your own alternative selection.

You've chosen the best event of the 1990's. Now how about the darkest moment of that decade ? Choose from the list or there's that text box again .....

Now you are into the home straight ..... we are now looking at teams of the 1990's. This time we want you to choose the best team of the 1990's from all of the players that represented Yeovil during that time. There's been some discussion about this on the Ciderspace Mailing List and Message Board so here's a head start to get you thinking, although the choice is entirely yours, and you do not have to use this list ....

Dave Coles, Jeff Sherwood, Phil Ferns, Steve Rutter, Mark Shail, John McClelland, Jerry Gill, Matt Hayfield, Andy Wallace, Guy Whittingham, Howard Forinton, Warren Patmore, Tony Pennock, Peter Conning, Mickey Spencer, Terry Skiverton, John MacGinley, Bob Iles, Rob Cousins, Kevan Brown, Murray Fishlock, Paul Batty, Brian McDermott, Jerry Gill, Steve Stott, Paul Sanderson.

Those were your favourite players of the decade. How about naming the least talented players you ever set eyes on. The sort of players that you wished that Why?mouth or Barf Sh*tty would dive in and give you money for their services. Have a look at this prospective list, then either choose from it, or pick yer own ....

Dave Walters, Colin O'Mogbehin, Steve Tapley, Denny Mundee, Ricky Chandler, Howard Pritchard, Simon Spencer, Paddy McCarthy, Rob Peters, Richard Thompson, Kevin Braybrooke, Graham Kemp, Dean Chandler, Peter Conning, Neil Cordice

And finally, which players did you feel had been taking lessons from Vinnie Jones, Dennis Wise and Gary Patterson, all at the same time. The ones that required an ambulance at hand from the moment they entered the field of play .... yes, it's time to name your Psycho XI for the decade. So put yer shin-pads on, look at this list, then choose your own XI using this, or your own imagination .....

David Coles, Wayne Dobbins, Tony Ricketts, Graham Roberts, Paul Thorpe, Phil Ferns, Jimmy Quinn, Richard Cooper, Gary Donnellan, John McGinley, Dean Birkby, Al-James Hannigan, Neil Coates, Steve Tapley, Chris White
