Name: Alex Fisher
Date of Birth: 30 June 1990
Place of Birth: Westminster
Alex Fisher signed for Yeovil Town on January 26th 2018, on the same day that the club played Manchester United in an FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Huish Park. Born in Westminster on June 30th 1990, he is a 6'3" striker that started his career at Oxford United, working his way through their Academy ranks, whilst attending Abingdon School.
He made his debut during the 2006-07 season, whilst just 16 years old and went on to score his first league goal for the club at the age of 17 in January 2008. Despite that early breakthrough, he was to only make 17 appearances for the Conference side, across three seasons, scoring three goals. Loan spells with local sides Brackley Town (5 appearances, 3 goals) and Oxford City (16 appearances, 12 goals) were fruitful, but didn't stop him from being released in the summer of 2009.
Then came a rather nomadic spell for him, kick-started by two years with Spanish side Jerez Industrial, linked with the Glenn Hoddle Academy. He scored 11 times in 21 appearances, but a broken jaw curtailed his two seasons there. He headed to Belgium, spending three years, playing for Tienen (9 appearances, one goal), Racing Mechelen (30 appearances, 7 goals) and Heist (2 appearances), before his continental journey saw him move to Italy, where a 2013-14 spell with Monza saw two goals in 14 appearances.
For the 2014-15 season, Fisher returned to England, where he signed for League Two side Mansfield Town, scoring twice in 16 appearances. A year later he played for Torquay United in the Conference, clocking up five goals in 23 appearances, across the first half of the 2015-16 season.
Fisher left Torquay by mutual consent, and headed north where he signed for Scottish Premiership club Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in January 2016. An eighteen month spell saw him score eight goals in 25 appearances. Motherwell snapped him up for the 2017-18 season, but he couldn't recreate his form at Inverness, failing to score in 19 appearances.
That triggered his move to Yeovil Town, with Motherwell agreeing to sever his contract during the January 2018 transfer window. He signed for Yeovil Town later that day, agreeing an eighteen month contract that will keep him at the club until June 2019.
