Name: Bevis Mugabi
Position: Central Defender
Date of Birth: 1 May 1995
Place of Birth: Harrow
Bevis signed for Yeovil Town on August 5th 2016, having been at the club during the whole of pre-season as a trialist. He was given a permanent deal after all friendly fixtures had been played, ultimately severing his relationship with Southampton a year before his contract with them was due to run out.
He started his career at Fulham before switching to Southampton as a teenager. An injury during the 2013-14 season thwarted his progress a touch, but despite that, Saints gave him a new two and a half year deal in February 2015 - a contract that he was to ultimately sever a year early in joining the Glovers.
He has been called up for England Under-17s in the past albeit without gaining any caps, but in August 2016, he was given a call up to the full Uganda national squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Unfortunately, a week later, he withdrew from the squad after Yeovil Town stated that they had not been given enough notice by Ugandan officials for him to be selected. In March 2018 he finally got a second call-up and on this occasion he made his international debut against Sao Tome and Principe, following that up three days later with a game against Malawi. He was called up for further games in June 2018 but did not get into the pitch.
He is predominantly a centre-back but Southampton also used him as a right-back during academy fixtures, where he has risen to their Under-21s side. Yeovil Town have also used him in both positions, but have tended to veer towards the full-back role when selected.
Bevis initially signed a one year contract for the 2016-17 season. However, he was then given a new two year deal that keeps him at Huish Park until the summer of 2019.
