Shaun Jeffers was unveiled as Yeovil Town's sixth signing of the summer in 2015, on June 23rd 2015. He was previously on the books of Newport County and joined the club as a free agent, having played in trial matches arranged by the club during May 2015.
Born in Bedford on April 14th 1992, he began his career at Coventry City as a youth player, being given a professional deal in 2008. He made just eight appearances for the Sky Blues across five seasons as a professional, but gained first team experience through loan spells with Cheltenham Town (25 appearances, two goals) and Cambridge United (two appearances), followed by a 2012-13 six game spell with Tamworth.
For the 2013-14 season he signed for Peterborough United, playing 11 times and scoring three goals, but was to only last half a season at London Road. In January 2014, he was part of a two-way transfer that saw Conor Washington head to Peterborough, as Jeffers headed to Newport County. Across an 18 month period he made 36 appearances, scoring three goals, albeit with 21 of those appearances coming from their substitutes bench.
He signed a one year permanent deal with Yeovil Town on July 1st 2015, and played in around three-quarters of the club's 2015-16 season matches, scoring just three goals along the way. During the second half of the season, he went out on loan with National League side Woking, but that spell was disrupted by a back injury and he returned to Huish Park, by that time having dropped significantly down the pecking order. He was released at the end of his contract when the season finished.
