Name: Tom Eaves
Date of Birth: 14 January 1992
Place of Birth: Liverpool
Tom is a 6'5" tall striker, who was born in Liverpool on January 14th 1992, and started his career as a Crewe Alexandra academy player, before moving to Oldham Athletic where he was given his first professional contract. There he made 15 appearances at Boundary Park during the 2009-10 season, with his debut coming only just past his 18th birthday. With such early promise in his career, it wasn't too much of a surprise when Bolton Wanderers - then a Premier League club - stepped foward to sign him on a three year contract during the summer of 2010.
His career at the Reebok Stadium never really took off, even though he spent six seasons there. In the end, he only had five first team appearances to his name, with a large number of loan spells with other clubs allowing him to rack up experience elsewhere. His most prolific was his first time out. Moving to Bristol Rovers during the 2012-13 season, he scored seven goals in 16 appearances at League Two level. That allowed him to make the step up to League One, where he joined Shrewsbury in February 2013, scoring six goals in just 10 appearances, including a hat-trick against Crawley Town. During the 2013-14 season, Eaves was loaned out again, joining Rotherham United, where he scored once in nine appearances, before being recalled by Bolton in November 2013. He then rejoined Shrewsbury in a deal that was ultimately extended for the remainder of that season, seeing him score twice in 25 appearances.
Then came Tom's loan spell with Yeovil Town, as Gary Johnson took him to Huish Park in November 2014. His debut saw him become the club's 250th player to represent the Glovers at Football League level. He came to a side that had been struggling for goals up front throughout the season, and his seven appearances didn't see that problem change. A bonus for him though was that his final appearance for the club was as a substitute in the FA Cup Third Round match against Manchester United, that allowed him to bag one of Wayne Rooney's shirts after the game. He then returned to Bolton, before making a further nine game loan spell with League Two side Bury at the tail end of the 2014-15 season, which reaped one goal. His 2015-16 season was spent playing for Bolton's development squad before being released at the end of his contract when that season ended.
Tom signed a permanent deal with Yeovil Town on July 1st 2016, with a one year contract keeping him at the club until June 2017.
