Name: Matthew Dolan
Date of Birth: 11 February 1993
Place of Birth: Hartlepool
Matt was born in Hartlepool on February 11th 1993. He was initially part of Middlesbrough's youth academy, and although he didn't make any first team appearances for the club, he was thought of highly enough for them to give him a four year contract whilst he was seventeen years old. He captained their Under-21 side, and whilst he was on their books he was sent out on loan to play for the Glovers, where he played a part in the club's 2012-13 promotion-winning side, across two short loan spells that were interrupted by injury, making nine appearances overall. He scored the winning goal in the match against Notts County at Meadow Lane, and was then a substitute in the club's Wembley play-off match against Brentford.
Returning to Middlesbrough after that game, he had a 24 game loan spell with his home town club Hartlepool United during the 2013-14 season, that was followed by another eleven game loan spell with Bradford City. They took him on for the 2014-15 season on a permanent basis upon his release from Middlesbrough, where he made a further 17 appearances, punctuated by a second Hartlepool loan that saw him make two appearances for the Victoria Park club.
After that he was released by the Bantams at the end of the 2014-15 season, allowing him to sign for the Glovers as a free agent. He will sign for the club when his contract with Bradford expires, giving him a two year contract from July 1st 2015.
NOTE: Statistical note - numerous sources claim that Matt made ten appearances across his 2012-13 loan spell for the Glovers. The error is caused by the April 13th 2013 match against Stevenage in which Matt was named in the starting line-up on the teamsheet. However, he pulled out of the match prior to kick-off with an injury, replaced by Dominic Blizzard. Statistical websites listed this as a 2nd minute substitution, but the change happened prior to kick-off - Matt never got on the pitch.
