18 March 2009 : Supporters Group Subsidises Loan Move
Yeovil Town have revealed that goalkeeper Chris Weale's one month loan has been partially funded by a Glovers supporters' group. The Green and White Supporters Club have provided funding for the deal to go through with Wealey's parent club Bristol City.

Certainly the GWSC deserve praise for putting up the funds so quickly, given that with Josh Wagenaar suspended, the club had no registered keeper for the weekend match against Milton Keynes Dons.

However, it does raise the more concerning question of how close to the edge the club are living financially in that they've had to go cap in hand to supporters for what is an essential purchase. Thankfully the club have seven home games to play over the next 6.5 weeks, so cashflow should be there during the next few weeks, but this is certainly an unprecedented situation under Chairman John Fry's stewardship.
