Saturday's match against Peterborough United will be taken charge by Chris Sarginson (Staffordshire). For the third time this season we've managed to be given a referee who is making his League One 'debut' at Huish Park. Mr Sarginson was only appointed to Football League level this summer as a referee, and so we have not had him before as the man in the middle, although he has been an assistant for a couple of away matches in the last few years.
As an assistant referee, he has waved the flag at an FA Vase Final, a Football League Play-Off Final and a UEFA Cup tie. As a referee, his biggest game was to take charge of the Conference Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg tie between Torquay United and Exeter City. Since becoming a Football League referee though, he has been confined to League Two matches until now.
His last game was Saturday's FA Cup match between Sutton United and Notts County where he gave six yellow cards out. So far this season he has been a little top-heavy on the card count, raising 37 yellow cards and 2 red cards across 10 matches.
Mr Sarginson will be assisted by Andrew Bennett (Devon) and Justin Comley (Berkshire). The Fourth Official will be Mark Russell (South Gloucestershire).
