Yeovil Town have lost out on the signature of Barnsley midfielder Sam Togwell to League One rivals Scunthorpe United.
The Glovers had agreed terms with the 23 year old during the first week in August, but it would appear that budget restrictions have denied manager Russell Slade any chance of signing him. Barnsley manager Simon Davey stated on August 7th that the move was on hold due to the Glovers having to sell a player before they were allowed to bring in fresh blood, and it looks as though Togwell has decided to cut his losses and sign for the Iron instead.
Togwell has signed a two year contract at Glanford Park, which leaves Slade having to return to the drawing board in his search for back-up to his paper-thin squad.
