Barnsley midfielder Sam Togwell is still none the wiser as to if his move to Yeovil Town will take place. The tough-tackling former Crystal Palace trainee is stuck in limbo after the two clubs agreed terms, but the Glovers were unable to ship an unnamed player out of Huish Park.
Barnsley boss Simon Davey unsurprisingly has shown a touch of frustration when explaining to their official site that it still hasn't gone through:
"Sam Togwell's transfer to Yeovil is a longer saga than the Gareth Barry one. He was due last week and that kept being postponed so we will see what happens."
Given one of the popular theories was that Marc Bircham was the one earmarked to leave Huish Park, this afternoon's news of Bircham's hamstring injury could present a problem for everyone involved in the Togwell transfer. If Bircham is the intended outgoing player, then he will need to be fit again before he can be seriously considered by another club and that could easily jeopardise the Togwell deal.
