Former Youth Team striker Tom Clarke has agreed to move to Bridgwater Town on a month's loan that should be finalised today.
Tom has made a single first team appearance, against Gillingham last season, but has been a regular in the Reserve Team over the past two seasons, clocking up 26 appearances and scoring eight goals.
Assuming the paperwork is completed in time, Tom will go into Bridgwater's squad for their FA Cup tie against Paulton Rovers at Fairfax Park. The move has come about through Glovers assistant manager Steve Thompson, who went to Hamp Junior School in Bridgwater with Craig Laird, who is Bridgwater's manager.
Speaking to the Bridgwater Mercury, Laird explained how the move came about:
"We've been looking for another striker and Steve contacted me this week to suggest that Tom should come to us for a month. He isn't very big, but very quick and should fit in well with our style of play. He came training on Thursday night and looked promising."
