It's that time of year again, when the Yeovil Town Programme polishes up its acceptance speech.......... only to stuff it back into the drawer for another season.
Last year we could report some improvement - 26th February, 2006. This year the programme has held stable in some areas but slipped in others.
While there has been a marginal increase in content from 55.56% to 56.94% other clubs have improved much more. The Yeovil issue now lies 22nd in League One in terms of the amount of content. The average content in our division is over 10% higher at 67.9%. Amongst the 92 clubs as a whole the Yeovil programme comes in at 85th.
Things aren't so bad on the value for money front. Here the calculation is done on price per page of content, and with the vast majority of clubs in the Premier League and Football League Championship, and even seven in League One, now charging £3.00, Yeovil does better here. The Glovers programme comes fifteenth in League One and sixty-sixth out of the 92.
The top three placings for all round Best Programme, considering content, design, production qualities, value, in the Programme Monthly Awards for League One went to :
1) Brighton & Hove Albion
2) Oldham Athletic
3) Bradford City
Further awards were distributed to the following programmes :
Best Value - Blackpool
Best Read - Scunthorpe United
Best Design - Nottingham Forest
Most Improved - Port Vale
Merit Award for Continued Excellence - Cheltenham Town
Also commended were the issues from Brentford, Bristol City, Millwall, Northampton Town, Swansea City and Tranmere Rovers.
