Tomorrow night's match against AFC Bournemouth will be looked after by referee Paul Taylor of Hertfordshire. He has been a semi-regular visitor to Huish Park throughout the years, but it is not that often we get him for an away match. His last visit to South Somerset was for the 0-0 draw against Bradford City just before Christmas.
Rather scarily we praised him in that match, and indeed found him to be one of the better officials around when he visited last season for the 0-0 draw with Swindon Town, again praising him for a booking-free game. Perhaps his only drawback is that when he takes charge of matches, there haven't been too many goals scored!
Mr Taylor will be assisted by Ian Cooper (Rochester, Kent) and Andrew Turner (Devon). The latter also ran the line in the pre-Christmas Bradford game, whilst the former is an Isthmian League referee who does not appear on the Football League's official list of recognised assistants. The fourth official is Irvine Woodward (Sussex).
