Yeovil Town's second string went down 2-1 against Cheltenham Town Reserves tonight at Whaddon Road. As predicted, the Glovers fielded five trialists in their line-up and it was one of those - Darryl Knights - who opened the scoring for Yeovil on 14 minutes, converting a left-wing cross from Ishmael Welsh to put the visitors 1-0 up.
The Robins equalised four minutes from the break through Craig Reid when a move involving Steven Gillespie and Michael Wylde saw Reid finish smartly from 10 yards out.
The Glovers missed several second half opportunities to regain the lead with Scandanavian trialist André Schei Lindbęk sending one just wide of the post whilst Ishmael Welsh blazed over the bar from eight yards out after Knights crossed from the right flank.
Those missed chances were costly when just a minute from full time, Michael Wylde crossed in from the right, allowing Craig Reid to net his second of the evening from close range to win the match for The Robins.
In addition to the front line of trialists Lindbęk and Knights, the three other trialists saw Ipswich Town Luke Webster play at right-back whilst former Plymouth Argyle full-back Anthony Barness was on the opposite side. Barnsley midfielder Dale Tonge who is another candidate full-back operated in the centre of midfield. The full line-ups, courtesy of the Cheltenham Town Official Site are as follows :
