For those who were scratching their heads, wondering why goalkeeper Danny Barker wasn't on the bench for Tuesday night's Somerset Premier Cup match - it transpires that he was put out on loan two weeks ago. Danny is playing for Clyst Rovers who play in the First Division of the Toolstation League - effectively the Western League that Glovers fans will recall Yeovil Town Reserves competing in up until the First Team's promotion to the Football League.
Clyst Rovers have had a fairly miserable season and currently lie in a second from bottom position with 31 goals conceded in 9 games. Only two of those goals though took place with Danny between the sticks - two 1-0 defeats at Shrewton United and Hengrove Athletic, which would put his loan spell as having commenced just before September 23rd. Danny has been put on loan at the Devon side to help him get in match practice this season whilst he recovers from last season's injuries that saw him fracture both wrists.
