Yeovil Town has appointed a new physio following the departure of Glen Schmidt to Bristol City.
Jim Joyce, most recently at Southampton, has joined the backroom staff at Huish Park. Manager Russell Slade commented :
Getting Jim on board was very important. He's a great physio with terrific experience who has worked at this level with Port Vale and in the Premiership with Southampton.
Saying farewell to Saints on their Official Site Joyce said :
I put talks on hold last week because I had to go up to Scotland for a funeral. When I got back I flicked on the TV to see who Yeovil had got in the Carling Cup and could not believe it!
After so long here, it will seem very weird coming back and being in the away dressing room. I will have to make sure I don't jump up and run on the pitch out of habit if a Southampton player goes down hurt. But it will be good to see certain people again and to say goodbye to the fans so it is a great draw for me. I am delighted to be back in football and to have got this job which means I don't need to move house as I can commute.
Ciderspace welcomes Jim to Huish Park.
