Yeovil Town won their final pre-season friendly on Monday night as they beat North Dorset side Gillingham Town at their new Woodwater Lane ground. In a match that was being used as a fundraiser for the Dorset Premier League side's new stadium developments, what was badged as a first team friendly was anything but that, with the starting eleven being made up of ten Under-18 players, and an unnamed senior trialist.
Despite the more junior side being selected for the occasion, Yeovil took the lead through Gabriel Rogers five minutes before the break, and then added to their tally during the second half with two more goals. Neville Nzembela doubled Yeovil's lead, before a header from Devon Arnold, who has recently moved up from the Under-16s level, completed the evening.
Final Score: Gillingham Town 0 Yeovil Town Under-18s 3.
Scorers: Gabriel Rogers (0-1), Neville Nzembela (0-2), Devon Arnold (0-3).
