Former Yeovil Town loanee Connor Roberts has had a loan spell with League One side Bristol Rovers curtailed. The Swansea City right-back had been at the Memorial Stadium on a six month loan deal that was due to run into January 2017, but today they have ended it early, confirming that he has returned to his parent club.
Whilst Roberts was a near ever-present for Yeovil Town during 2015-16 - he missed one match due to a Wales Under-21 call-up - his time in Bristol has been rather more frustrating. Despite taking him on loan on August 25th, it took until October before they gave him time on the pitch. In the end, the 21 year old was only selected for two League One matches, with the remainder of his five appearances coming in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy. Since November 15th, he has been entirely unused, meaning that the 'active' part of his six month deal can be condensed into a six week period.
Roberts will be able to play Development Squad matches for Swansea City over the next few weeks, but will not be allowed to play any first team football until the January transfer window opens.
