Former Yeovil Town midfielder Gavin Williams has become the second West Ham player to temporarily leave Upton Park in a loan deal this week. Williams has joined Championship side Ipswich Town - a team he has already seen this season having joined Yeovil fans in the away end during the Glovers Carling Cup First Round win at Portman Road.
Academy graduate Chris Cohen is of course the other midfielder to go out on loan - to Yeovil Town - and Hammers manager Alan Pardew said of the pair to the club's official site: "Neither of the players have featured in the Premier League yet and I just felt they needed to be playing more football and getting a bit more experience. We have sent them both out on loan for a month to give them a chance to show people what they can do and I am sure the moves will be positive for all concerned."
Speaking to their official site, Ipswich boss Joe Royle has said of the Williams deal: "Gavin will be joining us on loan for a month, He is looking forward to coming here and we're delighted to have him here. He'll train with the first-team squad on Wednesday but the likelihood is that he will be away with the Welsh national team after that and won't be back with us until the latter part of next week."
