Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie has been given the poisoned chalice honour of being the Coca Cola League One manager of the month for October 2005. After claiming three wins, two draws and no defeats during a month where every other side incurred at least one defeat, Ritchie was always the likely man to pick up the award.
Yeovil Town's Steve Thompson was one of those nominated for the award, whilst Southend United's Steve Tilson and AFC Bournemouth's Sean O'Driscoll were the other two nominations.
Reading manager Steve Coppell picked up the Championship award, whilst League Two winner was Leyton Orient's Martin Ling.
