Despite scoring a couple of goals on Yeovil Town's mini Continental tour it has been decided that Eric Obinna is not quite what The Glovers are looking for. He has therefore been let go and will not be accompanying the touring party back to England.
Speaking to the Western Daily Press manager Gary Johnson said :
We've had a good look at Eric on tour and decided that he's not quite at our level. He's not what I'm looking for so I'll keep searching. I've got a couple of irons in the fire.
With Matt Harrold lacking experience most would agree that the Glovers still need a replacement for the departed Bartosz Tarachulski to lead the line. With quite a few managers around the League bemoaning their inability to find big centre forwards at the right price this may be easier said than done.
Keeper Steve Collis, David Poole and captain Terry Skiverton all return from the tour with minor injuries, but are expected to be available for selection for the next friendly, against Premiership Portsmouth on Saturday July 16th, kick-off 3.00 p.m. at Huish Park.
