Yeovil Town's touring party were firmly brought down to earth today in Sedenhorst as they were soundly thrashed 7-1 against a full LR Ahlen first team in front of around 1,200 spectators. Ahlen play in the Bundesliga 2 and so this was always likely to be the toughest test of the three fixtures on the tour, but Gary Johnson's side would have been shell-shocked to have gone in at half time 5-0 down, after a speculative shot and four well-worked team goals had torn apart the Glovers, with three of the home side's goals having come straight through the centre of the park.
Some changes were necessary at half time and Yeovil responded well by netting a consolation goal through Eric Obinna, but two more Ahlen goals made the end result a rout, giving the returning Glovers plenty of food for thought on their return to England.
There will be no fourth tour match, despite hopes that another game might be squeezed in tomorrow. Also no sight is to be expected from the Hungarian winger mentioned last week on the official site - apparently he did not join the players on tour and is not expected to feature in any future matches.
