Officials for Yeovil Town's home match against Sheffield Wednesday have been confirmed. The man in charge will be Graham Scott (Oxfordshire). Mr Scott is a relatively new official on the circuit, having been appointed to the Football League's referees list in the summer of 2008.
We've had Mr Scott for two first team games before as a referee. The earliest of the two was the January 2009 home match against Huddersfield Town, which was Shaun MacDonald's debut for the club - he scored the winning goal that night. Our only grumble with Mr Scott that night was that he allowed Hudderfield's Ian Craney to escape with just a yellow card for a nasty tackle on Luke Rodgers that saw him crocked.
The latest match involving Mr Scott was the 2-2 draw with Stockport County last season. In that match, he showed a red card to Glovers goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, after he committed a professional foul on Stockport County striker Nicholas Bignall. We somewhat disputed how much Bignall had played for the penalty, but had no regrets about the decision to dismiss McCarthy once Mr Scott had blown his whistle.
Mr Scott will be assisted by Chris Powell (Dorset) and Tim Wood (Gloucestershire). The Fourth Official will be Marvyn Amphlett (Worcestershire).
