Yeovil Town scholars Rob Clowes and Rhys Baggridge are to further their development by starting a one month loan spell at local club Sherborne Town, and go straight into tomorrow's matchday squad.
Sherborne have found it hard going during their second season in the Western League Premier Division, presently lying second from bottom. They are currently managed by popular ex-Glover Mickey Spencer, who scored 104 goals for Yeovil between 1989 and 1995. Speaking to Sherborne's official site about the move he stated:
"This deal has come as a result of the good relationship and good support from Terry [Skiverton], and we appreciate how willing he was to help us. All of us at Sherborne Town appreciate how Yeovil and Terry are supporting local football.
A club like ours needs support and it is down to a long-standing relationship with Yeovil Town and their management team that we can welcome two of their rising stars. We hope that the experience is a two-edged sword. Hopefully Rob and Rhys will learn plenty, not just about the game but about the club, and that our players will learn something from the qualities they bring."
We wish Rob and Rhys all the best on their loan spells, and hope it is indeed mutually beneficial, with the players gaining experience and Sherborne moving up the table away from the relegation zone.
