Away supporters are situated in the all-seated Dains Stand (renamed yet again after yet another sponsor, though if asking for directions you'll find locals are more likely to call it the William Sharpe Stand), billed as holding 1,914.
As with YTFC, tickets are cheaper if bought in advance. We assume tickets are on sale from the Huish Park Ticket Office, although with less than a week to go we've still seen no announcement on any ticketing arrangements or prices on the Official Site*; thereafter it will be on the day at the Banks's Stadium. So, gleaned from the Walsall Official Site general ticketing information from the start of the season, it looks like:
Pre-bought prices: adult £18.00 (up 40p from last season); senior citizen (aged 60 and over) and junior (under 18) £12.00 (up 30p).
Matchday prices from Banks's Stadium: adult £20.00 (up 40p from last season); senior citizen (aged 60 and over) and junior (under 18) £14.00 (up £2.30).
According to the Walsall end (5th August 2009) matchday tickets are to be bought through "cash on turnstiles only for visiting supporters unless notified otherwise." And since neither club seems to have deemed it necessary to inform visiting supporters of anything, otherwise or not, we can but presume that remains correct.
In the past entry has been through turnstiles 21-28.
Concerning disabled supporters: there are 25 dedicated parking places at the ground for Blue Badge holders. Wheelchair users and ambulant disabled are accommodated at ground level pitchside in the Banks's Brewery Stand, helpers sat behind. There are 4 adapted toilets in the stadium. A catering outlet is present at the corner of the Banks's Bewery Stand, stewards will assist on request. The club's policy is for disabled supporters to pay the normal ticket price relevant to their age, with a carer admitted free. Disabled supporters should contact the Walsall Ticket Office on 01922 651416.
Walsall v Yeovil Town: Tuesday 23rd February, 7.45 p.m.
Update (5.00 p.m.): We have been informed by the club that Walsall has not provided any tickets to be sold through the Huish Park Ticket Office. To avoid the £2.00 extra on purchasing on matchday purchasers need to contact the Walsall Ticket Office on 01922 651414.
Not from the club, but our opinion: this smells of a calculated policy by Walsall to squeeze an extra £2.00 a head out of visiting supporters.
1) Where there is an advanced purchase/matchday purchase differential it is standard practice for clubs to organise the availability of tickets for away fans through the visiting club so they can pre-purchase without difficulty.
2) We have looked again, and can find no warning in their ticketing information of this requirement for away fans to buy through the Walsall Ticket Office to avoid paying £2.00 more.
3) According to our information from Yeovil Town, Walsall have not sent down the information on their ticketing they would expect as a matter of course from clubs we are due to play. A cynic might suspect that, with mere days to go, this is to increase the chances of unsuspecting fans turning up ticketless on the night and getting stung the full matchday price.
* There is now.
