Name: Sam Ayorinde
Date of Birth: 20 October 1974

Striker Sammy Ayorinde was making his second visit to Huish Park when he donned a Yeovil shirt in November 2005. The Nigerian striker had previously visited Yeovil in March 2002 when as a Stalybridge Celtic player, he played in a 2-0 away win for the Cheshire side.
Sammy was born in Lagos, Nigeria on October 20th 1974 and briefly became a member of Nigeria's international squad when he was selected for a full international match against Scotland in April 2002.
He came across into this country via Nigerian Am signing for Leyton Orient in April 1996. Sammy left East London 18 months later having spells with Conference sides Dover Athletic and Altrincham. He then left the country turning out for Austrian side Sturm Graz and Swedish side Assyriska. He then returned to England during the autumn of 2001, signing for Stalybridge, where he played for most of the remainder of that season.
The scent then goes quiet, until Sammy turned up on trial for former Glovers boss Gary Johnson at Ashton Gate in November 2005. A week later, Sammy made his one and only appearance for Yeovil Town in a Pontins Holiday Combination League match on Tuesday 29th November 2005. Despite scoring in that match, three minutes after coming on as a substitute, the Nigerian was not asked back for further matches.
