Name: Korrey Henry
Date of Birth: 28 November 1999
Place of Birth:
Korrey was signed by Yeovil Town on July 22nd 2018, following a trial during pre-season that saw him play in a number of pre-season friendlies. He became the club's sixth signing of that summer, having scored in a behind closed doors friendly against Bristol City whilst he was still an unnamed player.
Born on November 28th 1999, he is an 18 year old, who is generally recognised as an attacking midfielder. From his former club West Ham United's point of view, he is extremely versatile, with them suggesting he spent much of the 2016-17 season playing in almost every position bar goalkeeper.
During the 2017-18 season that variety of positions continued, as he became a regular in their Under-18 side, making 36 appearances and scoring 16 goals. He also made one appearance for West Ham Under-23s as a substitute. Despite this, West Ham released him at the end of the 2017-18 season, meaning that he joined Yeovil Town as a free agent. Manager Darren Way said of his arrival at the club:
"I'm excited to work with Korrey who's an exciting young talent. He's strong, direct and very quick and will add something different to our forward line. Welcome to the club, Korrey."
Although West Ham described him as principally a midfielder, upon unveiling him Yeovil Town described him as a striker, giving a hint as to where they saw his future career. He was given a one year contract by the club that will keep him on their books until the summer of 2019. The club have an additional one year option on that contract, should he impress during his first year at Huish Park.
