Name: Mark Beck

Position: Striker

Date of Birth: 2 February 1994

Place of Birth: Sunderland

Profile : Mark Beck became Yeovil Town's fourteenth signing of the summer when he signed for the club on July 24th 2015. He had been most recently on the books of Carlisle United but was transfer-listed by the Cumbrians at the end of the 2014-15 season. He is a 6'5" tall striker who has also been on the books of Falkirk as part of his career.

Born in Sunderland on February 2nd 1994, and therefore 21 years old, he was a product of Carlisle's youth system, signing a scholarship deal in the summer of 2010, and making his first team debut during that period. He was given his first full professional contract in April 2012, initially as a one year deal, but with that being extended further as he grew into a fully-fledged first teamer.

Just before he turned fully professional, he had a short term youth loan with Conference North side Workington (4 appearances, one goal). He has also had further loan experience north of the border with Falkirk, who he joined for the second half of the 2013-14 season. He went on to play 20 times for the Scottish side, scoring six goals, which included scoring in a play-off match at the end of that season.

Overall he played 77 times for Carlisle, scoring ten goals, albeit with 51 of those appearances coming from the bench as part of his development at Brunton Park. He has also represented Scotland Under-19s and Scotland Under-21s, scoring once in three appearances at the more junior level. Two of the occasions he scored for Carlisle were against Yeovil Town - we gave him his first two Football League goals at Huish Park in November 2012.

He was transfer-listed at the end of the 2014-15 season as new manager Keith Curle told fifteen players to look elsewhere for their football - Beck had signed a contract extension under the same boss at the start of 2015, meaning that he left Carlisle with a year left on his current deal to run. Carlisle have indicated that they have retained certain rights with respect to any future move he may make, suggesting that they have built in a sell-on clause into any arrangements they have made with the Glovers - although there's no mention of a transfer fee.

He has signed a two year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2017.
