Name: Liam Shephard
Position: Right Back
Date of Birth: 22 November 1994
Place of Birth: Pentre, Wales
Liam was born in Pentre in Mid Glamorgan on November 22nd 1994 and was originally on the books of Cardiff City as a youngster. He switched across to Swansea in the summer of 2011, eventually being given a professional contract with the Swans in the summer of 2013. From that point onwards, he began to move up the ranks and by the 2014-15 season he had got as far as the first team teamsheet for Swansea six times, albeit without getting onto the field of play.
That saw them give Shephard a new contract until the summer of 2017. A few weeks later in January 2015, Gary Johnson took him to Yeovil Town where he made his professional first team debut, ultimately staying with the club for the remainder of the season, making 20 appearances and picking up the club's Young Player Of The Season for 2014-15, despite having only arrived midway through the campaign.
Shephard's return to Swansea saw him called up to the Wales Under-21 side during the 2015-16 season, seeing him gain caps against Armenia and Romania. He then made his Swansea first team debut, in an FA Cup Third Round match against Oxford United in January 2016. Later that same season, he returned to Huish Park for a second loan spell, making six appearances for the club under Darren Way's management. Unusually all six games saw him play in midfield, rather than his usual role as a right-back.
Shephard commenced his third loan spell with the club on July 1st 2016, agreeing a six month temporary stay in South Somerset.
