Name: Brendan Moloney
Position: Right Back
Date of Birth: 18 January 1989
Place of Birth: Beaufort, Killarney, Ireland
Brendan is a defender who predominantly plays as a right-back. He arrived at the club from Bristol City on July 8th 2014, shortly after having his Ashton Gate contract ripped up, thus joining the club as a free agent. He arrived on the same day that Luke Ayling went in the other direction, although with both deals handled independently. Just before he signed for the club, Colchester United had shown some interest in him, but without them firmly throwing their hat into the ring.
Born on January 18th 1989, Brendan is a Killarney-born player who moved over to England to play in Nottingham Forest's Academy team before turning professional with them during the 2006-07 season. Whilst at Forest he made 49 appearances as he graduated from the youth team ranks, punctuated by loan spells with Chesterfield (9 games, 1 goal), Rushden and Diamonds (4 games), Notts County (19 games, 1 goal) and Scunthorpe United (3 games) - the most fruitful of these being his spell at Meadow Lane during the 2009-10 season.
In January 2013, he moved to Bristol City on a two and a half year contract, and he went on to make 58 appearances for them, scoring one goal. During the 2013-14 campaign he was a regular in City's side, clocking up 41 appearances, but with Cotterill bringing in Mark Little from Peterborough United and consequently showing an interest in Yeovil's Luke Ayling, the Robins boss was willing to let Moloney go for free.
Brendan signed a two year contract at Huish Park that will keep him at the club until June 2016.
