Profile :
Andy Williams is a striker who can also play as a winger, although has said that he prefers to play up front. He has had three spells with Hereford United, with two of them being whilst on Bristol Rovers' books. He was born in Hereford on August 14th 1986 and stands at 6'2" tall. Starting his career at Edgar Street, he made his debut for his home town in the 2003-04 season. He became their top goalscorer during the 2005-06 season with 13 goals in all competitions.
He moved to the Memorial Stadium in the summer of 2007, and has had two further loan spells at Edgar Street, having struggled to break into the Bristol Rovers starting line-up, with 51 of his 88 league appearances for the Gas coming from the bench. During the 2009-10 season though he stayed at the Memorial Stadium, despite having been placed on the transfer list at the tail end of the previous season. His performances during the early part of that following season though were enough for Rovers manager Trollope to change his mind.
Rovers had offered Williams a one year contract, with their manager Paul Trollope believing that he could still tie him down to a new deal, but instead he moved down the A37 to South Somerset. Due to Rovers offering him inferior terms to his previous contract, Yeovil did not have to pay a compensation fee to Rovers. He signed a two year contract with the Glovers on July 1st 2010.
