Match Report:

Yeovil Town slipped into the League Two relegation zone tonight, after an ultra-late goal saw them lose to Mansfield Town. It took the Stags until 99 minutes and 41 seconds had passed on referee Charles Breakspear's watch before a recycled free kick saw Mitch Rose's cross headed home by Reggie Lambe for a late late goal scored in time added on due to a head injury sustained by Glovers keeper Artur Krysiak. Elsewhere during the match, the Glovers did generally OK, but severely lacked a spark in the final third, and as a consequence find themselves level on points with Dagenham and Redbridge and Newport County with the bottom three having become cut adrift of the midtable pack above them.

The Glovers went into the match making two changes to their side, with both of Saturday's central midfielders being swapped out to the bench. Matt Dolan and Wes Fogden were exchanged for Marc Laird and Shaun Jeffers, with a formation change also being employed. Josh Sheehan dropped properly into midfield, whilst Jeffers partnered Ryan Bird up front. The new line-up saw over a very quiet opening period where neither side really got a foothold on the game. Mansfield passed better during the early stages, but all they had to count on was a Mitch Rose effort that went wide.

Finally around the midway point of the first half, Yeovil began to get into their stride. Harry Cornick fed Ryan Bird with the striker showing a strong first touch to control the ball, but his shot went over the bar. Swansea City loanee Connor Roberts was starting to cause Mansfield's defence a lot of problems, with Mansfield debut boy Blair Adams picking up a booking after he took out Roberts, picking up a card that could have easily been of a different colour. Roberts was thankfully back on his feet and put in a strong cross minutes later that saw Shaun Jeffers head wide. But those chances began to eventually fizzle out, with just a Marc Laird effort going over the bar before the break, in what was a rather inert looking half from the point of view of both sides, with Artur Krysiak a near spectator.

Another slow start to the second half from a Glovers point of view saw Reggie Lambe force Artur Krysiak into his first save of the game after a loose ball in a crowded goalmouth following a corner couldn't be cleared. Substitute Adi Yussuf also forced Krysiak into a strong save as the Stags ramped their game up. Then midway through the second period, Connor Roberts produced a brilliant goal-line clearance after Lambe managed to get the ball past Krysiak, only to find the Swansea loanee anticipating the danger afoot by stopping a certain goal.

That move was to prove significant, as goalkeeper Artur Krysiak had received a head injury in his own efforts to block the goal and he spent a lengthy period of time receiving treatment on the pitch. That was also the point at which Stephen Arthurworrey, who had been playing with his right leg strapped up and had gone down injured earlier in the half to signal that he couldn't continue any longer. Krysiak thankfully could - once his head was bandaged up, but Arthurworrey had to be replaced by Alex Lacey for his first game in six weeks, whilst Iffy Allen also came on for a tiring Shaun Jeffers.

Moving into nine minutes of injury time, caused by Krysiak's injury, it seemed that Mansfield's efforts had fizzled out - Yeovil were unlucky not to see Ryan Dickson convert as the clock struck ninety, with Connor Roberts once again the creator. However, in the tenth minute of injury time, Ryan Bird conceded a foul on Lee Collins, and Mansfield got some late late pressure on the Yeovil Town penalty area. The ball was half cleared from the set piece, but was recycled by Mitch Rose, who crossed into the box, allowing Reggie Lambe the chance to head home - 99 minutes and 41 seconds into the game, guaranteeing that Yeovil Town had no chance to recompose their demoralised selves before the final whistle blew and 2,900 shellshocked supporters trudged out of the stadium - some making their feelings known before they turned their backs and walked out.
