Yeovil Town have taken Tottenham Hotspur striker Jonathan Obika back on loan. As mentioned yesterday, manager Terry Skiverton had indicated that he was likely to take on cover for the injured Dean Bowditch and the end result is a rather familiar name. As yet, the length of the loan deal has not been specified, but would be 28 days at the very least.
Obika scored four times for Yeovil in 10 appearances last season and so will be a very popular addition to the Yeovil Town squad. Welcome back Jon!
There's no word on whether Obika is able to play in tonight's match against Norwich City - one factor would be whether Spurs have given him permission to play, but another would be whether the Glovers have registered him in time for tonight's game.
Update: Manager Terry Skiverton has now confirmed, with the small caveat that the finer points of the loan have not actually been signed and sealed yet, that the deal is expected to be for three months initially, with the possibility of an extension on that if it suits all parties. The gaffer also revealed that while the loan's exact timing may have been influenced by the injury to Dean Bowditch on Saturday it was not the result of it, the manager having been working behind the scenes for the last four weeks to secure Obika.
