Former Yeovil Town winger Gavin McCallum is on trial at Northampton Town. The Canadian Under 21 international played in a pre-season friendly at Brackley Town and appears to have impressed enough to be given a second chance against Conference National side Histon.
McCallum rose up through Yeovil Town's Youth Team, turning professional in early 2006 but only broke into the first team once - coming on as a substitute against Gillingham in May 2007. However he was released that summer and has since played for Weymouth, Havant and Waterlooville, a brief pre-season spell at Bognor Regis, before spending the whole of last season playing for Sutton United, where he was their top scorer with 19 goals.
