After back to back defeats, to Plymouth Argyle in the F.A. Women's Cup and table leaders Queens Park Rangers in the league, Yeovil Town Ladies were back in action this afternoon in the South West Combination. Reading Royals, currently having a disasterous season in the league and lying bottom with a single point and a -36 goal difference, would doubtless have been high on the Glovers list of opponents to get their forward momentum rolling again. The visitors were duly dispatched at a very cold Somerton.
Jemma Tewkesbury converted as early as the 15th minute on the end of a lightning break, and a Kayleigh Nardiello cross was tucked away by Amy Wilde around the half hour mark to see Yeovil go into the break 2-0 up.
In the second half the Glovers doubled their lead, both coming from Anusia Rourke. On 75 minutes the Royals goalkeeper spilled a shot from Lindsey Roe and Rourke was on the spot to take advantage, then increasing her personal tally in time added on as Yeovil rubbed in the victory on 90+2.
Final score: Yeovil Town 4 Reading Royals 0
