This morning's Stoke Sentinel is claiming that the rumours concerning Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers are true. Rodgers is stating that he has been frozen out by manager Dean Glover after the manager reverted to a 4-5-1 formation, leaving the goalpoacher out of his thinking. Rodgers claims he offered to play as a winger in that formation, but that the manager was not interested:
"I spoke to Deano and asked if I could get involved, but he said he didn't see me playing on either wing, and also said he was planning for next season. I'm gutted because I've loved it at the Vale. I've scored 20 goals since I've been there and feel I've done well. But I don't want to sit on the bench. I definitely don't hold any grudge against Deano. And I'd like to thank the fans and the players who have been brilliant with me, and I wish the club all the best."
The paper claims that Rodgers will sign on Monday and that he will not play in today's FA Cup match due to a bruised foot.
