The October Man of the Match voting saw three players dominate proceedings, during a hectic spell of matches. Midfielder Gary Roberts would have come close to winning it if he hadn't missed a match through suspension, whilst right-back Craig Alcock went even closer after he stepped in to cover for the injured Lee Peltier. However, the overall winner throughout the month was midfielder/winger Danny Schofield, whose double-strike against Crewe Alexandra was the key moment in a fine month for him.
The top 10 rankings, with the percentage of vote won during the month are shown below:
Danny Schofield 18.5
Craig Alcock 17.2
Gary Roberts 16.7
Andy Welsh 9.7
Paul Warne 8.4
Gareth Owen 6.7
Asmir Begovic 4.4
Gavin Tomlin 4.0
Darren Way 2.6
Terry Skiverton 2.4
