Yeovil Town's return to York, following Saturday's postponed fixture, will now be made on Tuesday April 20th, according to semi-official website www.yorkcityfc.com.
York City Financial Director Terry Doyle said of Saturday's costly downpour: "The postponement was a major disappointment because it came at a time - March - when cash is very tight and is generally tight at most clubs because of the way the Football League distributes money to its clubs. Our last contribution from the League was a small one in February and the next will not be until April. The major problem for us when a game like Yeovil is postponed is that we have to pay travel costs for them to come back."
By the time the game is played, the match could have extra significance. Not only are the Glovers on the very edge of the play-off zone currently, York are now being sucked into a relegation battle seemingly involving nearly half the clubs in the Third Division, with 12 clubs separated by just seven points and basement duo Macclesfield and Carlisle still closing the gap on the struggling dozen.
