Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade has conceded that interest from bigger clubs in Nathan Smith is hotting up, even though the left back has been out for some weeks injured and recovering from an operation. Smith is under contract at Huish Park until the end of the 2009-10 season, but it won't have gone unnoticed that for the last few years the Yeovil board has seemed prepared to accept any offer for anyone that comes their way, and Slade accepts that Smith is being closely monitored :
"The Championship are looking at him and one or two Premier League boys. Once we get him firing again I am sure that will be to the betterment of the team."
Although he didn't name names, rumours have been circulating for a while that Bristol City is one of the clubs keeping a close eye.
