As a follow-up to 19th June, Chard are reporting that their attempt to retain Lloyd Irish for the 2008-09 season has come to naught, with the goalkeeper moving home to the Southampton area. Presumably this implies that any ties with Yeovil Town have also been severed.
Meanwhile the links of brother Owen Irish with Huish Park have been growing stronger, with the defender having made a number of appearances so far in pre-season and been part of the squad taken to North Devon for the South West Challenge Cup tournament.
