Yeovil Town Chief Executive Martyn Starnes has said today that the club are still hoping to make at least one new signing before the season starts. Speaking to BBC Somerset, Martyn was fairly cagey about what the club were looking at and where it might lead, but certainly did not rule out that a striker was likely to be one of the club's primary targets:
"We are always looking at players and a striker is no exception. We will continue to cast our net and see if we can bring in another striker before the season starts. We'll see what happens over the next few days."
Martyn also confirmed the arrival of Portsmouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who will play in the Tuesday night game against Plymouth Argyle as a guest/trialist, but is still widely expected to agree some sort of a loan deal at the club before the start of the season:
"Asmir Begovic will arrive at the club tomorrow and I'd expect him to play on Saturday as well. We'll see how things develop from there."
