29 May 2008 : Kirk Available For Transfer?
With League Two Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy going public today on his failure to sign Andy Kirk there is natural speculation that the Yeovil Town striker will be on the move just months after his arrival at Huish Park.

The Shrimps boss stated :

Andy Kirk, unfortunately didn't come - the forward from Yeovil. He's a player I worked with in the under-21's [Northern Ireland] but I couldn't do a deal there. But there's other irons in the fire.

As McIlroy is being so up front on the matter one may presume the Glovers are open to offers for Kirk, who was signed from Northampton Town in the January 2008 Transfer Window on a two and a half year contract, taking him through to the end of the 2009-10 season.

The other possibility is that the Morecambe manager was flying a kite, and his approach was knocked back by the club as Kirk is not available, but it has to be said that particular scenario is not the impression that comes across from the wording.
