15 August 2007 : Officials For Port Vale Game

The Referee for our League One encounter with Port Vale this coming Saturday will be none other than our old friend Trevor Kettle (Rutland). Having risen through the ranks at the same time as we have progressed, he is a familiar face at Huish Park. There’s not much that needs to be written about Mr Kettle that we don’t already know about. He has a liking for playing with cards and has baffled many over the years with some bizarre decisions.

To be fair though, he has improved since joining the league ranks and there are a few refs around who are worse. Last season, surprisingly, he was in charge of only one of our games, the 1-0 League One home win over Chesterfield. Trev was also the fourth official for the play-off final with Blackpool at Wembley.

Trevor will be assisted by Stephen Phipps (Oxfordshire) and Lee Swabey (Devon). The fourth official will be Neil Radford (Worcs).
