Yeovil Town striker Lee Morris is expected to sign a new deal later this week and the implications are that it may be for a longer period than the 12 month contract he was offered last season. Morris is the only one of last year's squad that has yet to put pen to paper, but manager Russell Slade told the Western Daily Press yesterday that he expects that to be resolved soon:
"That deal is very close to being resolved. I expect Lee to put pen to paper some time this week. It will be at least a year's contract."
Slade believes he is now seeing a significant improvement in Lee's fitness this season and revealed that he spent much of last season wearing a support to help him get around the pitch:
"He is looking in much better shape. He's not actually wearing his back brace, which he did for most of last year, and he hasn't had to receive any additional treatment and we are very pleased with the progress he's made."
