Michael Jones (Cheshire) has been appointed to officiate in the Glovers fixture against bottom side Brentford at Huish Park this coming Saturday.
Unless someone knows different our recollection of Mr Jones dates back to our first season in the Football League away at Bury. He was a bit of a pain that day and eventually red carded Steven Reed. A relatively recent appointment to the National List at that point - something like the start of his second season - Mr Jones was getting a fair amount of flak and poor reviews from numerous sets of supporters, but there's some evidence he's settled down a bit since then with more experience. We can but hope.
David Phillips (Sussex) and Lee Swabey (Devonshire) will be the assistant referees, Simon Snartt (Gloucestershire) the fourth official.
