According to the Stockport County Official Site the transfer of David Poole from Yeovil Town has been agreed. With the small caveat that the paperwork has not yet been completed - County want to tie everything up by noon on Friday so that Poole is eligible for their big F.A. Cup clash at Vicarage Road on Saturday 6th January - Poole is now effectively an Edgeley Park player. There is no disclosure yet as to what, if any, fee is involved.
The move has been on the cards for some time. Poole has been a big hit with County fans in his loan spell and is also a local lad, born a few miles away in Gorton. He didn't really settle in Somerset after his move from Manchester United, and although he became more of a regular in the side towards the back end of the 2005-06 season he was quickly out on the fringes again as the 2006-07 campaign developed. He made only one start and three substitute appearances this term, the last being from the bench in the loss away to Tranmere Rovers back on 19th August, and just under a month later he was out on loan at Stockport.
In total Poole made twenty-one first team starts for the Glovers and eight substitute appearances, and scored two goals. We wish him all the best in his move back North.
