21 November 2006 : Brentford FA Youth Cup Match Preview
Yeovil Town's Youth Team play at Griffin Park tonight, kick-off 7.30pm when they take on Brentford in the FA Youth Cup Second Round. Admission prices are 3 pounds for Adults and 1 pound for concessions. Stuart Housley's side have the carrot of a Third Round tie against Ipswich Town as a reward if they can beat a Bees side who will provide a stern test having already beaten the Glovers 3-0 earlier this season.

On that day in October, Brentford bossed the first half, very much outpassing the Glovers, and it was not until the second period that Yeovil got back into the match and began to create their own chances. Certainly if they are to defeat the West London side, it is the home team's passing game that they will need to disrupt. Since that match, Lewis Gundry has been brought in as a central midfielder into Yeovil's squad and Stuart will no doubt be hoping that keeper John Steele has recovered from the hand injury that has kept him out of the last couple of matches, although Peter Burridge has proved an able deputy when called upon. Captain Gary Bowles should be available for the trip tonight given that Dorchester Town are not in action.

A curious feature of tonight's match is that Brentford's First Team Manager will effectively be in charge of their Youth Team! Having removed Leroy Rosenior from first team duties following their 0-4 home defeat against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, Youth Team manager Scott Fitzgerald is now temporarily in charge of first team affairs at Griffin Park, and presumably will double-up for tonight's game.

At least a few hardy souls from the Capital Glovers and Ciderspace will be in attendance at tonight's game. If you have time for a pre-match drink, then we'd recommend The Griffin on the South-West corner of the ground - hopefully it will be a bit less packed than it normally is on matchdays! Otherwise look out for us in the ground.
